About Bond & Beyond
Being a behavior psychologist by qualification, even before having my baby, I’d always seen myself helping and counselling others find their way, offering encouragement and support, sprinkled with a little humor. I breastfed my child for almost 4 years and I think that’s my greatest achievement till date because, when I got pregnant, never in my wildest dreams I thought I’d breastfeed beyond 6 months. When I became a mother, I experienced both emotional and physical challenges and feelings I previously never knew existed. As I was growing personally, I found myself being helpful through my friends’ breastfeeding and parenting challenges, through our city’s local support group, ‘Coimbatore Parenting Network, which is now a public charitable trust and that encouraged me to consider pursuing lactation counseling as my profession, which has now become my passion.
I’m a Certified lactation educator counselor (CLEC) , and each passing day, striving to get higher degrees in lactation. While I established my private practice ‘Bond & Beyond’, my professional background included 3 years of providing lactation support for a local hospital helping babies and moms in the first days after birth. In addition to privately seeing clients, I currently teach classes, facilitate support groups and speak at events. I’m honored to receive referrals from a number of pediatricians, obstetricians, midwives, doulas, colleagues and happy moms. The range of my practice gives me the opportunity to embrace the diversity amongst a variety of families and to work with not only newborns, but with babies at different stages throughout their first year and beyond.
What I feel really sets me apart, though, is my sincere hope for each family I meet that I offer warm support, gentle encouragement and a true sense of empowerment while providing practical evidence-based tools to guide them in their individual experience. Respect and empathy for every mom I work with is a given. I can honestly say that I have never met a mother who wasn’t working hard at doing the absolute best she could. I want to support you. My goal is to build your confidence and work with your own goals so that you are successful, whatever success means for you.
New parenthood is an incredible time with ups and downs we don’t fully realize until we are in the middle of it. I love what I do and I believe my work reflects that. I look forward to meeting you and helping with your breastfeeding challenges and beyond.
